From Paris, With Love

Hey guys, I’m back again with another travel diary and this time it’s from beautiful Paris. There’s just something magical about Paris, it doesn’t matter how many times you visit, it will always be magnificent. This time I was here for Paris Fashion Week which was so much fun. The atmosphere and style throughout the city was something else! Bloggers and photographers just filled the streets and the Paris ‘hotspots’ were packed with stylish people capturing their looks. It was really fun to experience. We also ate in some of my favourite places that I wanted to share with you too. Myself and my fellow blogger pal, Carmen, travelled from Amsterdam via the Thalys train. The Thalys service is absolutely amazing! It runs several times a day and takes just over 3 hours from Amsterdam central to Paris city, Gare du Nord. We had such a comfortable journey, catching up on some emails before a busy week and enjoyed some food and drinks from the bar. I would absolutely recommend traveling via the Thalys train if you’re doing a little European travel. The best part for me is the zero luggage restrictions and not having to be there hours before your depart. 10/10! Thank you so much to Thalys for such an enjoyable journey. Our hotel was also a dream come true! I had stayed at Hotel La Comtesse last year and enjoyed my stay so much that I suggested we stay again for this trip. We paid in full for this hotel on departure but the manager kindly upgraded us to the most incredible room with a terrace view of the Eiffel Tower. We couldn’t believe our luck. The location is absolutely perfect too with lots of bars, restaurants and cafes right across the street and a big supermarket too for any snacks and bits and bobs you may need. I will definitely be staying here again. Click here for a direct link to the hotel. For food, we ate lunch and dinner in the restaurants next to the hotel as they were super convenient after a long day of shooting. On our first night, we headed to my favourite restaurant in Paris, Pink Mamma. The food is absolutely incredible and I love the vibes too. Unfortunately they don’t take bookings for dinner so there will always be a queue unless you arrive early as soon as they open. You have to try their truffle pasta, it’s insane! Click here for the website. Another gorgeous place we ate lunch was at a little hidden gem called ‘Girafe’. It’s super closed off and you wouldn’t even see it from the street, but it’s right next to the popular Eiffel Tower viewing point, Trocadéro. If you enter the building on the left and walk to the back you’ll find it. We did have this booked in advance which I would suggest doing. The weather was also incredible so we requested a table on the terrace which was absolutely beautiful! The food is quite fancy and expensive but it’s worth it for the view :) Click here to check out their website. Some photo hotspots I would recommend, apart from the usual Louvre & Arc de Triomphe etc, would be Pont Alexandre lll, Place de la Concorde (the beautiful fountain next to the Jardin des Tuileries) & Montmartre (such a stunning Parisian location where artists fill the streets with their amazing paintings). Everywhere in Paris is picture perfect and I’m sure I’m yet to discover so many more! Hope you enjoyed this blog post and if you’re visiting Paris soon, bon voyage! Lauren. X
