Hey Guys,
Happy Monday. I hope you're all well and having a good start to the week. I wanted to share with you my Disney Cruise blog post this evening as I know some of you had some questions so I hope to fill you in as much as possible about this trip. For more information on other parts of the trip, I will leave links to direct sites where you can enquire further :)
What We Did:
Prior to our cruise, we flew to Orlando, Florida with Virgin Atlantic (roughly 9 hours), and enjoyed 2 full days in Disney's Contemporary hotel & a few days in Disney's theme parks. Our first full day was spent in the Magic Kingdom and our second day in the Animal Kingdom. Both were absolutely amazing and it was such a lovely way to kick start our trip. As the cruise ship docks in Port Canaveral (approx. 1 hour drive from the Disney resort in Orlando) I would definitely recommend spending a few days here first.
4-Night Bahamian Cruise from Port Canaveral Orlando on the Disney Dream cruise ship.
Day 1: Port Canaveral – Florida. Embarking the ship, checking into rooms, exploring the ship, enjoying dinner and a sail away celebration.
Day 2: Nassau Bahamas- Full day off the ship enjoying activities and day excursions of your choice which you can choose/book prior to your cruise.
Day 3: Castaway Cay. Another full day off the ship on Disney's private island. Sip cocktails, enjoy a delicious bbq on the beach which is included in your package and take in the stunning tropical surroundings. That evening there is a Pirate’s in the Caribbean Deck Party with an amazing fireworks display. (The only cruise ship at sea to have fireworks).
Day 4: Day At Sea. Relax, unwind and enjoy a full day aboard the Disney Dream. Escape to the adults only lounge and bar, indulge in the delicious buffet or catch a Disney movie by the pool. There are so many on board activities to enjoy during this day at sea including mini golf, quiz's, meet and greet the characters and so much more. Each evening in your room you will receive a full list of activities for you and families to enjoy the following day.
Day 4: Port Canaveral- disembarking the ship in Orlando.
Live Shows on the ship: (These are absolutely incredible, Broadway and Westend standard! Each show is included in your package. Just ensure to show up a little early for a good seat and enjoy!)
1. The Golden Mickeys
2. Disney’s Believe
3. Beauty and the Beast.
To give you an idea of pricing: A sample price for four nights on-board the Disney Dream in the Bahamas ranges from £799pp. Prices are per person based on two adults travelling and sharing an inside Stateroom cabin on a full-board. Based on departure date 27th August 2018. To book a cruise and for more information/ accurate prices, visit the Virgin Holidays Cruise site here.
Price: $$$$$
Cruises, overall, are a more luxury holiday but worth every penny! Especially a Disney one, it's everything you imagine it to be and more! Totally magical from start to finish.
Eat & Drink:
The food on board the Disney Dream was absolutely delicious. The restaurants and buffet cater to all food preferences and allergens. Especially as I have a nut allergy, the staff were very helpful and conscious of my allergy and did everything they could to accommodate me. Certain restaurants on the ship are included in your package however there are alternative restaurants that are seperate to your packge and definitely worth a visit if you would like a different fine dining experience.
Overall Rating: 5/5
This was honestly the trip of a lifetime! One I will cherish forever. I am such a Disney lover so to experience this Caribbean cruise and visit the exclusive Disney island, Castaway Cay, was incredible!
