Hey my loves,
Happy Friday! And what a sweet weekend ahead as myself and John are in beautiful Morocco :) It's so sunny here at the moment (about 27 degrees) so I am just on my laptop in a little shaded terrace on our roof top veranda. The view in front of me right now is specular. On my right is old town Morocco and to my left are the snowy Atlas mountains. Such a stunning contrast.
We are staying in the oldest part of Marrakech in a beautiful Riad. Our riad is named after the famous 'Josephine Baker ' hence the name, Riad Star. A riad is a traditional Moroccan house or palace with an interior garden or courtyard. It is a much more personal experience staying at a riad as the staff are here to cater to you hand on foot. They are so super friendly and I can't thank the Marrakech Riad group enough for having us on this wonderful trip. Sometimes I can't believe how lucky I am to travel to these amazing places with my blog. It's an absolute dream.
Yesterday we visited the famous Madina. It's like another world! Endless souks of antiques and spices, a must when visiting Morocco. The streets are completely chaotic but it's all part of their culture and way of life.
This morning we did some sun bathing on our terrace and this afternoon we are heading to the Jardin Majorelle which were owned by Yves Saint Laurent and his ashes are actually buried there, in the heart of his botanic gardens. I really cannot wait to see it!
I will keep you all up to date on our travels and if any of you are interested in visiting Marrakech, I will leave a link (here) to our beautiful riad. The owner of this riad has also set up a Marakech tour guide app on the app store to download. It has been so helpful throughout our trip so download it (here) if you are planning a trip. He explains everything from the currency to restaurants and cafes down to haggling at the souks.
Have a nice day babes :*
Hugs!
